Oscar Autie's Biography

Oscar Autie stands as a distinguished multi-GRAMMY Award-winning Engineer, making his mark in the music industry through his exceptional skills as a recording, mixing, and mastering engineer. Co-owner of the renowned El Cerrito Records studio in the picturesque San Francisco Bay Area, Autie has lent his expertise to a myriad of projects spanning diverse genres and featuring collaborations with legendary musicians.

His impressive portfolio includes working with iconic figures such as Fito Paez, Los Van Van, Orquesta Aragon, Pancho Quinto, Issac Delgado, Alain Perez, El Septeto Santiaguero, Sintesis, X Alfonso, Aymee Nuviola, Omar Sosa, and Orquesta Failde, among others. Autie's role extends beyond the studio, showcasing his talent as a live Front of the House Engineer for extraordinary performances by artists like Jackson Brown, Diego el Cigala, Fito Paez, Astor Piazzolla, Issac Delgado, Con Tumbao, Sintesis, X Alfonso, Conjunto Cespedes, Skankin Pickle, and more.

Originally hailing from Cuba, Autie embarked on his formal music training at the young age of seven under the guidance of Private Music Teacher Leopoldina Nuñez. His journey continued as he studied music composition, arrangement, and production at ENA (Cuban National School of Arts), culminating in a Performance Degree in Guitar. Proficient on drums, bass and piano, Autie furthered his education with an Electronics and Acoustics Degree from a Technical School in Havana.

Oscar Autie's significant contributions to the Cuban and international music scene were made evident during his tenure at EGREM, where he engineered and recorded for renowned bands and artists such as Irakere, Carlos Varela, Silvio Rodriguez, Santiago Feliu, Sierra Maestra, and Moncada, among others.

Autie is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (GRAMMYs®), the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (Latin GRAMMYs®), and the Audio Engineering Society (AES).

 His versatile expertise extends to voice-over and music training materials recording and mixing, with notable projects for esteemed companies including Leap Frog, The Warner Brothers, and Playsongs.
